Results That Matter

I’m excited to announce my candidacy for re-election as Alderwoman in the new 13th Ward. It has been an honor to serve as Alderwoman for the 27th Ward since 2017 and as Democratic Committeewomen even longer. I believe my experience can continue to bring results that matter. I pledge to continue to focus on these issues:

Work to end gun violence and reduce crime.

Timely trash removal, fight illegal dumping areas, and clean up alleys.

Support youth initiatives for jobs.

Promote senior citizen home repair programs.

Secure abandoned homes and keep empty lots cut.

Support funding for small business development, senior & veteran housing.

The best part of serving as Alderwoman is getting to help people. I am always ready to listen and help. Please don’t hesitate to contact me. I enjoy serving our community and would greatly appreciate your vote in the March 7th Primary and April 4th General Municipal election. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Pam Boyd
Alderwoman

Besides holding regular public meetings to keep residents informed, Pam Boyd believes in empowering residents. That why she created five volunteer committees. Any resident of the ward can volunteer to serve on one of the committees to ensure residents’ voices are heard, sets goals, and help work to accomplish them. These five committees are: Housing, Safety, Sanitation, Clergy Partnership, and Education.

Results

As Alderwoman Pam Boyd invested money in Greg Carter Park, added a concession stand to serve the baseball fields, and put lighting around the park to improve safety. She has seen that over 300 nuisance properties were demolished. Pam worked for the survival of the Imperial Building, talking to developers. Worked with Starr LLC to expand the Senior Center building in our ward, to house 30 seniors in two-bedroom apartments and supported Care Plus Development for a senior facility.

Pam worked with residents to create a traffic-calming project. She sponsored a Housing Conference to educate residents about services regarding their properties.
To help reduce crime, Pam Boyd coordinated a call to action by the Safety Committee to Mayor, Safety Director, and Chief of Police and has worked building relations with the Sixth District.

Alderwoman Pam Boyd sponsored Blitz with the City to address vacant properties, high grass, drugs, and other quality-of-life issues. She was aggressive in dealing with slum landlords and assisted in building block units and bringing services to 5900-6000 Lucille Thekla.

Experience

Pam Boyd serves on several key committees including Chair of Ways and Means, Vice-Chair of Parks and Environment, Streets, Traffic and Refuse Committee, and Chair of the Ward Capital–Citizen Services Subcommittee. Pam is also proud to serve as Chair of the Aldermanic Black Caucus and President of the Board for the Annie Malone Children and Family Services.
